Some of our clinicians use an artificial intelligence (AI) tool called Heidi to help transcribe consultation notes, so they can focus more on you during your appointment.
Key points
Heidi is designed to comply with the Privacy Act 2020 and New Zealand health information standards, and uses encrypted, secure systems.
Due to cloud infrastructure limitations within New Zealand, data for New Zealand users is stored on secure cloud servers in Australia.
Conversations are transcribed in real time, meaning no audio recordings are stored.
Your clinician reviews the transcript to ensure it is accurate and saves these as the notes in your medical record in our practice management system.
Your choices
Your clinician will explain Heidi at the start of your consultation and ask for your consent before using it.
You can say no or withdraw your consent at any time. This will not affect your care.
You can ask your clinician at any time what information Heidi is using, and you can request access to the notes saved in your record.
