Patient Portal: (for non-urgent communication)

MHC offers an online patient portal, Manage My Health (MMH).

MMH gives you secure access to your individual health information at any time and allows you to:

  • Book appointments with your doctor
  • Request repeat prescriptions (fees will apply)
  • View your health information including results and consultation notes.

Please speak to reception for more information on how you can register.

 Booking an appointment:

Appointments can be booked online via our MMH patient portal, or by phoning reception on 03 466 5011.

Please note:

  • All calls at MHC are recorded for training and quality purposes.
  • Standard appointment times are 15 minutes. Generally, the doctor can cover 1-2 things in this time.
  • Each family member should have their own 15-minute appointment.
  • We offer telephone/video or face to face consultations.
  • If you require extra time, please let reception know at the time you book your appointment (an additional fee will be charged for appointments longer than 15 minutes).
  • If you require a translator, please let us know in advance of your appointment and we can arrange for an interpreter.
  • Support can be provided for patients with any literacy problems. Please speak to reception.

Fees and Payment:

  • A full schedule of our fees and services is available on our website or from reception
  • At the end of each month where a statement has been issued and your account has fees owing, a billing fee of $3 will be charged.
  • Payment is accepted by Cash, EFTPOS, Visa/Mastercard and online payments at Westpac Bank 03-0905-0342267-01.  Please reference your name and chart number (listed on your invoice) when paying online.
  • Fees may be incurred if you do not arrive to a booked appointment and no cancellation has been made.

Prescriptions:

  • Some medications require a regular check up consultation. Please do not use the portal or prescription line when you are due for these medications, book a routine consultation.
  • You can order repeat prescriptions through our patient portal or you can phone 03 466 5011 and leave a message on our prescription line.
  • All prescriptions are issued electronically and will take up to 2 working days to be available at your chosen pharmacy.
  • If an urgent prescription is required (within 24hrs) please phone reception on 03 466 5011 and note there will be an additional charge.

Test Results:

  • Our main method of communicating test results is via MMH.  When the GP has seen and filed these results, they will be available to view.
  • Abnormal results will be communicated via a phone call, patients may be asked to make an appointment to discuss.
  • Remember with test results: We will not contact you for normal results. If you are not called: “no news is good news”.
  • You may also call reception and request a nurse call back if you would like to check your results.
  • Result timeframes may vary dependent on the type of testing undertaken.

Chaperone:

You are welcome to have a chaperone or advocate accompany you to any consultation with any members of our healthcare team.

Feedback and Complaints:

  • Your feedback, both positive and negative is important to us and assists us with improving our service.  If you have any suggestions or ideas to support improvements, please advise one of the team or email us at info@mhc.co.nz.
  • If you wish to make a complaint, please approach your doctor in the first instance and advise them of your concerns or you can put this in writing to our General Manager, Marian Rillstone, mrillstone@mhc.co.nz  Mornington Health Centre P.O. Box 7046, Dunedin.
