Educated in the UK and NZ, my working life
began not in medicine but in the furniture industry
as an apprentice designer. This involved four years
experience in craft-based industry and heavy manufacturing
as well as a year of teaching.
I returned to NZ in 1983 and began medical training in 1986 at the University of Otago after completing a BSc.
After graduating from Otago University in Science and Medicine I commenced GP training in 1993 with a placement at Mornington Health Centre. I enjoyed the culture and team approach to family medicine and joined as a Partner in 1996.
I have interests in older peoples health and responsibility for the medical care of residents at two rest homes. I also enjoy the challenge of minor surgery and palliative care.
In my free-time, I enjoy art and design, tramping, travel, and the company of friends and family. |
